A little bit about my current project.....
We have been awarded a contract to supply 7 offshore storage tanks, various sizes. Out of 7, 2 tanks are big of which we have to transport them by barge. Due to that, we cannot fabricate them at our own site in Shah Alam and has to opt for any yard close to any port around Malaysia. After all the tendering processes, a company located in PKFZ has been awarded by us for fabrication scope. Fabrication were then commenced officially sometime in Oct 2010 after AFC drwgs issued and materials arrived there.
After 3 months of fabrication, all tanks are considered ready for Full Water Test. We have experience difficulties in handling the fabricator performance in all aspect. Most of the headache that we are having is quality of the work i.e. distortion. This distortion issue has caused the delivery date is expected to delay by 1 month due to repair work.
As of now, we are still repairing the tank..... Hope we can deliver it after Chinese New Year.
Maybe I will share about the distortion in future...

HMMMMM.... CAN THIS BE APPLIED IN REALITY?
According to some psychiatrists there’s a good and a bad time to ask for a raise, because your boss has a weekly cycle of moods.
o Take Monday to ask for a vacation. Having just enjoyed his or her weekend, your boss will be in a better mood to grant you some time off.
o Tuesday is the day for bad news. Break it gently. Tuesday gives your boss the rest of the week you clean up your mess.
o The day to ask for a raise? Wednesdays. This survey says managers told them they felt most charitable on Wednesdays than any other… you’ll get lots of “yes” answers on this day.
o Thursday is the day to present your boss with your ideas… they’re more open minded.
o Friday is the day to ask for favors… it’s after all Friday, and bosses are looking forward to the weekend too!

Boss Tak Adil!!! :O
Pengurusan manusia (human management) bukan satu kerja yang mudah. Bahkan mungkin inilah paling sukar bagi seorang ketua dalam satu-satu organisasi ataupun kumpulan. Setiap anak buah dengan personalitinya masing-masing. Mengambil hati setiap orang boleh membuatkan kita rasa serba tak kena. Apa lagi kalau ada yang tak suka antara satu dengan yang lain. Semuanya boleh membuatkan kita pening....
Walaubgaimanapun, pemimpin mesti tetap kekal berlaku adil. Tidak mengira kepada anak buah yang digemari ataupun sebaliknya. Jangan kerana kita sukakan seseorang, maka segala apa yang dibuatnya, semuanya dikatakan betul, walaupun nyata ianya salah.....
Di pihak yang lain (baca pengikut/anak buah), jangan pula asyik memikirkan keadilan seorang ketua. Sehinggakan setiap apa yang dilakukan ataupun dikatakan mereka, diadili dengan sangkaan sendiri. Seolah-olah kita menjadi hakim kepada perlakuan orang lain. Kita perlu ingat, kerana sesungguhnya keadilan pada kita, tidaklah semestinya adil pada orang lain. Kerana kita mengadili dengan melihat dari satu sudut sahaja, iaitu sudut apa yang zahir. Sedangkan mereka, barangkali mengambil kira pelbagai sudut....
